Technical Tours

31st Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences

The technical tours will be held in two states: in Minas Gerais bus transportation will be available to and from all destinations; in São Paulo it will be necessary to take a one hour flight from Belo Horizonte and then a bus to reach the destinations.

Here is the proposed list of technical tours:

Minas Gerais

UFMG – Federal University of Minas Gerais

UFMG is one of Brazil’s five largest universities, being the largest federal university. It offers 75 undergraduate degrees, including a Medicine degree, Law and Economics, plus Engineering and Science and Art degrees. It offers 57 PhD programs, 66 MSc programs, 79 Post-Baccalaureate programs and 38 medical internship programs.

PAMA-LS – Aeronautical Material Park

The PAMA-LS, located in the municipality of Lagoa Santa, is an industrial complex that provides maintenance services for the Brazilian Air Force fleet. These services include not only the inspection and repair of the aircraft, but also the creation and maintenance of equipment such as flight helmets, lifeboats, parachutes and ejection seats.

IAS – Increase Aviation Services

IAS is an aircraft parts and equipment company located in the city of São José da Lapa. The company specializes in the maintenance of engines and components of the fuel, electric, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Gol Airlines – Aircraft MRO Center

Gol is the largest low-cost airline in South America and the second largest Brazilian airline company by market share and fleet size. This facility, located at the Confins International Airport, is Gol’s main maintenance center and is capable of performing heavy checks on 737 Classics as well as Next Generation 737s.

CETE-MG – Embraer Engineering and Technology Center

Embraer has been installed in the SENAI / FIEMG Center for Innovation and Technology, in Belo Horizonte, since the end of 2011. The CETE-MG team is part of the Company’s engineering force, engaged in activities related to the development of projects, products and services for the aeronautics sector.

São Paulo

ITA – Technological Institute of Aeronautics

ITA is an institution of higher education and advanced research with emphasis in aerospace science and technology maintained by the Brazilian Federal Government with the support of the Brazilian Air Force. Located in the city of São José dos Campos, the institute offers several engineering undergraduate and graduate courses. It also offers a professional graduate program in partnership with aeronautical companies and the armed forces.

INPE – National Space Research Institute

INPE is a research unit of the Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology, whose main goals are fostering scientific research and technological applications and qualifying personnel in the fields of space and atmospheric sciences, space engineering, and space technology.

Embraer Assembly line

Embraer S.A. is a Brazilian aerospace conglomerate that produces commercial, military, executive and agricultural aircraft and provides aeronautical services. The company’s headquarters and one of its production bases are in São José dos Campos.
