We are pleased to announce the upcoming MECSOL 2019 – 7th International Symposium on Solid Mechanics, promoted by the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering – ABCM, and organized by its Committee of Solid Mechanics. MECSOL 2019 will be held from April 15th to 17th, 2019, in Sao Carlos, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Since 2007, the Symposium has been a relevant forum for scientists and engineers to explore, discuss and present the recent developments in analysis and state-of- the-art techniques of solid mechanics. It has motivated an active participation of researchers and industry engineers, from Brazil and various other countries as well.
The goal is to provide the participants with an atmosphere that favors personal and scientific exchange. For this goal, format of two parallels sessions is adopted for the oral presentations.
English is adopted as the official language of the symposium, to be used in the preparation of the written papers and presentations. All the presented papers will be included in the conference proceedings. Besides, there will be a Special Issue of Latin American Journal of Solids and Structures (LAJSS) with more relevant papers presented in MECSOL 2019. In addition, the authors will be encouraged to submit your work to Composite Structures (Elsevier).
The topics of interest are: Fatigue and Failure Analyses; Composite Materials and Structures; Elasticity, Plasticity, Damage and Fracture Mechanics: Models, Experiments and Applications; Viscoelasticity and Viscoplasticity: Models, Experiments and Applications; Impact Engineering; Structural Reliability Methods and Reliability-Based Design Optimization; Optimization of Materials, Fluids and Structures; Numerical Methods: FEM, XFEM, GFEM, BEM and others methods; Nonlinear Analyses: Buckling, Post-Buckling and Contact Analyses.
