Uberl\u00e2ndia is located in the western part of the state of Minas Gerais,
\nin the region called Tri\u00e2ngulo Mineiro, one of the richest agricultural
\nregions of Brazil, between the Parana\u00edba and Grande rivers. With a
\npopulation of 654,681 inhabitants, according to 2014 estimates, the city
\nis the second largest in the state second only to Belo Horizonte
\n(2,491,109).<\/p>\n
It is connected to major cities by the following federal highways:
\nBR-050, BR-365, BR-455, BR-452, and BR-497. Uberl\u00e2ndia is about 580 km
\naway from S\u00e3o Paulo, connected by a modern and safe double trace highway
\n(BR-050). The capital of the state of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, is
\n560 km away and Bras\u00edlia, the capital of the country, lies just 440 km
\nto the north.<\/p>\n
Due to its centrality and good transport links, Uberl\u00e2ndia has been
\nchosen as a distribution point for the Free Economic Zone of Manaus, the
\nfirst ever such distribution point.<\/p>\n
The city of Uberl\u00e2ndia has many touristic attractions, in its
\narchitectural value and cultural and natural values. Some of the main
\nattractions of the city:<\/p>\n
– Municipal Market of Uberl\u00e2ndia: It is located at the city center. It
\nwas established in 1923, but only had its construction started in 1944.
\nIt is situated in Oleg\u00e1rio Maciel street, and offers diverse typical
\nproducts from the state of Minas Gerais.<\/p>\n
– Municipal Museum of Uberl\u00e2ndia: It is located at the city center, on
\nthe Clarimundo Carneiro Square. The same building had been used as City
\nHall. It has been reformed and today is a place where many cultural
\nprojects take place.<\/p>\n
– Sabi\u00e1 Park: It is a park\/zoo, located on the East Zone of the city. It
\nis a green complex made up of a zoo with dozens of animals in captivity;
\nseven lakes that come together to form one big lagoon; an aquarium that
\nhas 36 tanks and 36 different fish species; a running track of 5.100
\nmeters; and much more.<\/p>\n
– Rondon Pacheco Avenue: It is considered to be the \u201cgastronomic
\ncorridor\u201d of Uberl\u00e2ndia. Around it is where the nightlife in Uberl\u00e2ndia
\ncan be found, having many bars, restaurants, cacha\u00e7arias, pizzerias,
\ncafes, ice cream parlors and sweet shops. There are more than 60
\nestablishments across the avenue. Furthermore, the avenue also has many
\nhotels, convenience stores, gas stations, supermarkets and hypermarkets.
