Dear Colleagues,
Introduction
The ABCM Committee of Nonlinear and Chaotic Phenomena (NLFC) is a technical committee of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering (ABCM). Founded in 1993 during the First International Conference on Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, Control, and Their Applications in Engineering Sciences held in Rio Claro, São Paulo, Brazil, the committee has since successfully organized conferences in 1996 (São Pedro, São Paulo), 2000 (Campos do Jordão, São Paulo), and 2015 in Rio de Janeiro alongside COBEM.
Our committee is dedicated to promoting the development of nonlinear mechanics as a vital branch of science and engineering in Brazil. Nonlinear systems are remarkably broad, with significant applications across various fields—including multiple engineering disciplines, physics, computer science, life sciences, sociology, and finance. Individuals such as an engineering student interested in dynamical systems, a physiologist studying the heart, and a computer scientist analyzing the internet are all exploring nonlinear phenomena, yet they may not cross paths in traditional academic programs.
We aim to bring together researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students to share their expertise in nonlinear systems within a multidisciplinary environment. The committee encourages research that integrates theory, computation, and empirical data.
Goals
The committee unites researchers and students interested in:
- Nonlinear dynamics and chaos
- Nonlinear vibrations and control
- Stability and bifurcation
- Control of chaos
- Synchronization
- Fractals
- Pattern formation
- Applications of nonlinear mechanics in all branches of science and engineering
We pursue our objectives through:
- Organizing national and international meetings on topics within the field of Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, Control, and Their Applications in Engineering Sciences.
- Establishing connections between individuals and organizations engaged in scientific work in mechanics and related sciences.
- Gathering and disseminating information on all matters related to Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, Control, and Their Applications in Engineering Sciences.
- Organizing courses on Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, Control, and Their Applications in Engineering Sciences for undergraduate and graduate students throughout Brazil.
ICONNE 2025
On behalf of the International Organizing Committee, we are pleased to invite you to
ICONNE 2025 – International Conference on Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, Control, and Applications to Engineering, to be held in November 2025 in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil.
Building on the success of previous events, this conference aims to provide a forum for discussing and disseminating the latest approaches, methodologies, results, and current challenges in nonlinear dynamics and chaotic systems. We invite contributions in all analytical, computational, and experimental aspects of nonlinear dynamics.
This conference will be held within the
International Congress of Mechanical Engineering (COBEM) 2025. Organized by the Committee of Nonlinear Phenomena of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering (ABCM), COBEM occurs every two years in a Brazilian city and is the largest and most traditional scientific event covering all fields of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering in Latin America.
Paper submissions will follow the procedure described on the COBEM homepage (see the Authors’ area):
