The ENEBI, a regular Brazilian meeting on Biomechanical Engineering, started as a small symposium held at the city of Rio de Janeiro, in 2007. This first meeting was followed by events at Florianópolis/Santa Catarina (2009), Foz do Iguaçu/Paraná (2011), Vitória/Espírito Santo (2013), and Uberlândia/Minas Gerais (2015). The number of presented papers increased in each consecutive edition of ENEBI (Table 1), which reflects the growing relevance of the meeting for the Brazilian scientific community.
The next ENEBI, which will be held at the city of Águas de Lindóia/São Paulo State (2018), is being organized by São Carlos School of Engineering/USP and Renato Archer Information Technology Center (Division of Three-dimensional Technologies), and will promote the exchange of experiences between Brazilian research groups acting in the Biomechanical Engineering field. The organization aims to make a link between the society, industry, and scientific community by encouraging the use of experimental results from the researches, in order to improve the technology and promote innovative solutions.
