Topical Collection on Modern Aspects and Trends in Dynamical Problems of Mechanics

We would like to invite you to submit an original and unpublished extended version of your paper to the topical collection in the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences. Your contributions would be significant to the current knowledge base and add immense value to our upcoming JBSMSE collection. All papers will pass a peer review process.

Classical dynamics is the study of forces and their effects on motion. This topic covers a wide spectrum ranging from the dynamics of a single body under the action of a single force, passing through the dynamics of complex, interconnected, multi-body systems with forcing in all energy domains (mechanical, thermal, electrical, fluid system….), to the dynamics of continuous systems. A large variety of systems are considered in terms of dynamical problems, including linear and nonlinear systems, involving mechanical, mechatronic, smart structures, among others. The interest in dynamical analysis of continuous systems covers not only structural dynamics but also acoustics and vibroacoustic problems. A natural ramification of dynamics is system control, which is also of interest in this issue, including passive and active techniques. Moreover, several challenges arise from uncertainties in dynamical systems due to environmental conditions, manufacturing variability or model uncertainties, for instance.

This special issue encourages researchers to indicate some future directions and address current challenges in dynamical problems of mechanics. Authors can propose research articles reporting original and previously unpublished work with relevant contributions, including analytical, numerical and/or experimental analysis.  Submitted papers can include, but are by no means limited to:

  • Acoustics and vibroacoustics
  • Smart structures
  • Nonlinear dynamics
  • Vehicle dynamics
  • Multibody systems
  • Robotics
  • Mechatronic systems
  • Rotordynamics
  • Control of mechanical and robotic systems
  • Uncertainty quantification and stochastic dynamics

Submission Guidelines

All submissions must be original and may not be under review by another publisher. Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure you have carefully read the Submission Guidelines for the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering: https://www.springer.com/journal/40430/submission-guidelines.

The complete manuscript should be submitted through Editorial Manager: https://www.editorialmanager.com/bmse/default.aspx. Please select the appropriate topical collection in the drop-down menu upon submission to ensure that you submit to the correct topical collection. In addition, indicate within your cover letter that you wish your manuscript to be considered part of the Topical Collection on Modern Aspects and Trends in Dynamical Problems of Mechanics. All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review, and accepted articles will be published within the journal as a collection.
