Award and Special issue

9th International Symposium on Solid Mechanics

Mecsol participants will have the opportunity to enjoy several benefits, as described next.

I – They can submit their revised papers (10-15 pages) for consideration to the book “Springer’s ABCM Series – Mecsol 2024” at no extra charge.

II – Authors will also be able to submit full papers to the Mecsol 2024’s special issue of the Latin American Journal of Solids and Structures (LAJSS).
Please contact the organizing committee if you need assistance with the submission process in both cases.

III – Best Graduate Student Paper Award
During the paper presentation sections, the event’s organizing team will carry out an evaluation to determine the best paper by graduate students. The result will be announced at the closing ceremony on 23 October 2024.

The details are as follows.

1. Eligible candidates:
a. Postgraduate students (master’s or doctorate) or those whose defence took place before 22/10/2023;
b. Student who is first author of the work.

2. Application process. Send an email to Paulo.tarso@ufsc.br. With the following information:
a. Name;
b. Title and number of the work;
c. Proof of enrolment in a Postgraduate Programme or proof of defence.
d. Use email SUBJECT: MECSOL2023 – Best PG. Award

3. Registration deadline: the same deadline of the final paper.
